Didn't starting riding until 7:45 because the hotel didn't start serving breakfast until 7 AM. The guide led the "slow" group out because some changes were made in the route due to construction.  The first 20 miles were on back roads with great scenery and  little traffic. The hill climbing was only between  2-5% grade which is quite easy to accomplish even for me.  The over all trip had 3 major climbs (all several miles long with manageable slope) and fantastic 3-5 miles descents. In between these climbs the road was basically flat and at times had rollers --(up and down up and down).  I joined the guide and 2 other riders as we crossed the Snake River into Idaho --- ANOTHER STATE!

Amazingly I was not all that tired during or after the ride and for me to make 99 miles in 7 hours is outstanding (poor by most standards)  It was overcast today and much cooler, got to about 70, In all I got to ride basically by myself and was able to enjoy the vastness and stark beauty of this south east portion of Washington.

  2. We could see the snake river on the flight to Oregon! Also I remember a long time ago my mind being blown when crossing from Oregon to Idaho because I realized that’s where Ore-Ida, makers of fine potato products, got its name lol. Loving the pics! Some of those are quite the trip back in time!
