Fantastic ride today. The sky a brilliant blue, few clouds, pleasant temperature until the last 2 hours and super fantastic scenery. It was a great ride. I rode from the hotel till mile 18 where the climb over the Rockies began. I got in the van with two other guests. The slope up the 13 mile climb ranged from 8% to 11% and I knew I just couldn't do it. But we waited for riders at certain check points so I had an opportunity to take shots of each one of them climbing to the first snack and water station provided by the Trek Vans. When we were almost at the top where the van was stopping again the guide suggested I start biking from there. There was only on more climb at about 4% and then downhill to lunch 17 miles away. What a ride! After lunch I continued to the steep 13 mile descent at about 8% slope. The road had a lot of switch backs and hairpin curves but it was a great ride. At the bottom the van was waiting and I decided to go the next 20 miles to the hotel It was relatively flat and the day still beautiful Unfortunately I got lost and ended up on a gravel road that evenly just ended. I retraced my steps and entered I 90 for a short time till I rolled into Sheridan at about 5:10. Had to be ready by 5:50 to go to the restaurant. The food was good but the service lousy but then its all part of the adventure

ReplyDeleteWow great ride and photos. It's good you didn't mention the name of the poor service restaurant for your millions of readers.
