Once again the weather was cool in the morning (50 and about 75 in the afternoon) with full sun all day and a east north east 10-15 mph wind. Because of climbing in the first 13 miles I initially took the van and then hopped out and rode through great scenery for about 16 miles. We then turned directly into the wind on Route 14. The scenery changed from great to not great. The road for the next 80 miles was constant up and down hills and almost perfectly straight with grasslands, cows and sheep all the way After about 10 miles the head wind was too much so I got in the van and when the road turned south toward Gillette which was about 35 miles away from the town I once again biked. At lease now it was sort of a tail wind. Along the way to Gillette we passed through a town with a population of 2 and another with a population of 476. Doesn't seem possible does it? Gillette has about 30,000 people and a large strip mining coal industry. We stayed at the Hampton Inn. Which news station do you think was on? RIGHT FOX News.
