I was the first to leave this morning and in about a mile ran into construction.  The flagger indicated the road was closed for 10 miles and that they were putting in soil on the side of newly paved roads. I asked about a detour but that would have been I 90. He told me and the others that followed later could ride the road but the vans could not.  It was a GREAT experience. Newly paved road, no traffic and only a few machinery problems right at the beginning.  After about a half a mile the road was mine with the sun coming up!  WOW.  After this great 10 mile ride the next 5 or so was that cracked cement with bounces every 10-20 feet. The next 45 miles were basically on low volume county roads in fair condition. Some rollers but nothing to worry about.  The wind stayed at about 10-15 mph from the south so it wasn't too bad.  Lunch at mile 60 left only 20 miles to go. Again relatively flat but the wind picked up to about 15-20 mph.  Scenery was basically the same as yesterday. Soybeans, corn etc on large farms. I started to notice and smell pig farms and chicken farms. Not many but it seems to be taking off.  Got to the hotel at 3 pm.  By the way Austin is the world headquarters for SPAM and there is even a spam museum. Two of the group biked over there  -- Most of us declined.  I think I  ate spam once that was enough for a life time.

Early morning at the road "closure"

May this oil rig made this guy some money a long time ago

More farms

Store the grain

You guys sure you don't want to join.  The scenery is great!

Old barn and silo

Fields of corn are not quite that large in NJ

A lot of this type of building

A lot of barns have the brick base

Stopped for a break and snapped the yellow and green in
the fields fascinated me.. Guess I need to get to the Dairy
Farms in Wisconsin quick

These two riders visited the Spam Museum
and got FREE bike Jerseys

Remember Spam in the tin cans?

Notice today I did the entire ride!  1327 feet if climbing turned out to be 1946 according to the Garmin
