Overcast and 39 degrees when I left at around 7 AM.  The leaves are really starting to have more color and because of the cold there was a lot of mist/fog off the lakes and rivers early in AM.  I used my winter gloves for the first time and shoe covers to keep my feet warm.  I kept them on all day except for the gloves. I had arranged for a van ride at mile 32 for a 4 mile climb. Unfortunately there was miscommunication and I pedaled all the way up. The descent of course was great.  Lunch was at a combination bike shop and cafe. By the way many of the roads and even this lunch spot were part of the Cycle Adirondacks bike trip I took last year.  After lunch I did get the van up the next ascent which was much steeper. I biked the remaining 15 miles into Ticonderoga which included a 5 mile descent and a ride along Lake George. Everyday is a good day even if the weather isn't perfect.

Early morning mist

Hotel Grounds

More morning mist

Tried to capture the color of the trees -- complete failure

Still a chill at 9:30 am

Taking a rest notice the feet and head gear -- it was COLD

The Hudson -- way up state -- Where's the GW Bridge?

Can't miss this place

This was outside the information center.  Great attention getter

Is that another barn?

And still another barn  - no old autos or trucks though

I biked 72 of the 84 miles and climbed 4162 feet (many times the printed ascent is much lower
than the actual ride -- definitely in this case!)
